For copper, it may be common for everyone. In daily life, each of us can't live without copper products, but even so, many people still can't distinguish the same material correctly. Today, let Xiaobian lead you to distinguish all kinds of copper materials and talk about their uses.
Copper materials can be simply divided into two categories, one is pure copper, and the other is the composition of various copper alloys. What is copper alloy? According to the explanation of Baidu Library, alloy is a material with metal properties synthesized by two or more metals and metals or nonmetals through a certain method. It is generally obtained by melting into uniform liquid and solidification. Copper alloy, obviously means that the alloy contains copper. It can be simply understood as an alloy composed of pure copper as the matrix and one or several other elements.

According to the classification standard of non-ferrous metals in China, pure copper is divided into three kinds, namely oxygen free copper, red copper and phosphorus deoxidized copper. The purity of oxygen free copper is more than 99.95%. Due to high conductivity, stable processing performance, good weldability, corrosion resistance and low temperature performance. Therefore, it is widely used to manufacture bus bars, conductive bars, waveguides, coaxial cables, vacuum seals, vacuum tubes, transistor components, etc; Usually, when we say red copper, we mean that it contains more than 99.95% copper, which must be a very small amount of impurities, because the purity of red copper is very high. Therefore, the conductivity of red copper is greatly reduced compared with that of other materials. Red copper is widely used to make electrical equipment and heat exchangers such as generators, buses, cables, switchgear and transformers; Phosphorus deoxidized copper has a copper content of more than 99.90% and good welding performance and cold bending performance. It is widely used to make gasoline or gas transmission pipe, drainage pipe, condensate pipe, mine pipe, condenser, evaporator, heat exchanger and train box parts.

The classification of copper alloys is generally divided into the following categories: brass, bronze, white copper and silver copper.

Brass refers to the alloy based on copper and zinc. Due to its high strength, high hardness and strong chemical corrosion resistance, brass is widely used in making heat exchangers and condensers, low-temperature pipelines, submarine transportation pipes, plates, bars, pipes, casting parts, etc;

Bronze originally refers to copper tin alloy. Because bronze has high strength, good sliding friction resistance, excellent cutting performance and good welding performance, it has good corrosion resistance in atmosphere and fresh water. Therefore, bronze is widely used in spring, reed and other elastic components, pipe fittings, chemical instruments, wear-resistant parts and anti-magnetic parts, as well as aviation, automobile Parts subject to friction in tractor industry and other industries; White copper is a copper based alloy with nickel as the main additive element. It has good ductility, high hardness, beautiful color, corrosion resistance and deep drawing performance. It is widely used in shipbuilding, petrochemical industry, electrical appliances, instruments, medical devices, daily necessities, handicrafts and other fields. It is also an important resistance and thermocouple alloy.

The disadvantage of white copper is that nickel, the main additive element, is a scarce strategic material and its price is relatively expensive;

Silver copper is a binary alloy of silver and copper. Its outstanding characteristics are strong sulfide resistance, good conductivity, fluidity and wettability, good mechanical properties, high hardness, wear resistance and fusion welding resistance. It is widely used to make contacts, conductive rings and fixed contacts of air circuit breakers, voltage controllers, telephone relays, contactors, starters and other devices. Vacuum solder, commutator, can also make coins, decorations and tableware.
